Open BTU at the zoo: Cottbus hums and buzzes - small helpers, big impact

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is once again taking part in Cottbus Environment Week as part of its Open BTU public lecture series on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at 5:30 pm. The speakers will be Prof. Dr Klaus Birkhofer, head of the Chair of Ecology at the university, and Sven Hoffmann, board chairperson of the Cottbus Beekeepers' Association.

BTU receives certificate from the Digitalisation University Forum

On the occasion of the University:Future Festival - from 13 to 15 May 2025 in Berlin - the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) received the certificate of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung for the successful strategy process within the framework of peer-to-peer consulting.

Diverse BTU programme for the Senftenberg Open Day

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) will be presenting over 40 programme items to experience, discover and participate in when it helps to organise the Senftenberg Open Day on Saturday, 24 May 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

BTU as a crowd-puller at Potsdam Science Day

It was really crowded! On Saturday, 10 May 2025, young and old alike wandered through the Potsdam Science Park to get a taste of research at the 12th Potsdam Science Day. Over 40 Brandenburg educational institutions presented themselves. Among them was BTU, which was a crowd-puller with its programmes.

Shaping home

Experts from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and cooperation partners are investigating how home can be lived and shaped in a transfer series on the topic of social change and belonging in the "AlterPerimentale" project. The series of events will open on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Kunsthalle Lausitz.

Environmental protection in old age

The role of older people in environmental protection is the topic of a lecture by environmentalist and scientist Prof. Dr Hubert Weiger as part of the lecture series "Alt sein, na so?" (Being old, so what?) on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, from 5.30 p.m. at the main campus of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

LAUSITZ AS A NET ZERO VALLEY?

As part of the Cottbus European Talks, representatives from politics and society will be discussing the topic of "Lusatia as Europe's first "Net Zero Valley"" on Friday, 16 May 2025, from 3 p.m. at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).
